What I do

I am a seamstress working in the South Hams, Devon, I established my business in 2013.
I love creating and making.
I design and make my own collection of clothing.
I take commissions for dressmaking and I create beautiful hand-made curtains & Roman Blinds.
I make bespoke cushions, window seats & soft furnishings.

I can teach you how to confidently use your sewing machine and get started with exploring it's uses.

Seamstress Services

I no longer take on alterations. I focus on creating my own collection whilst also making beautiful, traditionally crafted soft furnishings. I make hand tailored clothes for clients too.

Curtains for Christmas 🎄 last job of the year completed and delivered today.
My splendid client chose the most gorgeous heavy weight linen. It was a delight to work with (unlike very light weight linens...) and I lined them with a cotton lining in pale ivory.
I did the calculations.... that was 65 metres of hand stitching = 2 x pairs and one door curtain, all made traditionally.
The result is some very lovely curtains and a very happy client. Yes!

Quilted little jacket 😍

A few months ago I created a green lined needlecord version of this jacket for a very special client (see that in a post below)
This quilted version is back to the original. Black cotton with a muslin layer quilted into it. The quilting took time and attention, and I am over the moon with how it came out....😁 it has received many compliments from visitors to my studio too 🥰 and now it's gone home to be worn and enjoyed.
I'm excited to create more garments in this style, with lovely details and wonderful fabrics.

100% Cotton lawn lining
100% Cotton wadding (quilted lining for extra warmth)

Wrap yourself up in one of my unique blanket coats for warmth and style this winter and for many years to come. Constructed to last, I make everything to the highest standards.

4 internal pockets
2 external pockets to keep hands warm
High collar to keep out the chill
Double layer quilted lining
Wool
Covered buttons
Each coat is a one-off unique garment

I use up every last piece of blanket - off-cuts are set aside for waistcoat creation, covered buttons, hats, trim. Most blankets are vintage and from another era which ties in with my classic coat cut.

Popping up with these at 36b Magdalen Road in Exeter from 27th October to 1st November!

I'll be at the Native Makers Winter Market in Duke Street, Devonport on the 29th of November!
